Checklist

Rafting on the OcoeeIf you and your group are staying with O.A.R. as part of your trip. Please help us out by following a few simple rules while your staying.

  • Please! Do not cut down any trees. You are more than welcome (we encourage you....) to gather fire wood from around the camp ground. Dead wood is everywhere. Help yourself.

  • Have a great time while you are camping with us! But around midnight, start being a little more quiet. The people next to you may be on the 8:00 A.M. trip and they may become pretty mean neighbors if kept up till 3:00 A.M.

  • Please use the dumpsters for your garbage. It detracts from the pleasure of an outdoor experience and annoys the squirrels if you don't
    .

What to Wear Whitewater Rafting

What to bring whitewater rafting (regardless of the weather)
- Towel
- Sun block
- Dry Clothes
- Sunglasses (optional)
- Plastic bag for wet things

Wear - Cool weather

Its nice to wear these things on a cool weather whitewater trip:

- Wool socks
- Wool or Acrylic sweater
- Synthetic top and/or bottom (wool, pile, polyester)
- Old sneakers, river shoes, etc.

O.A.R. has paddle pants and jackets to wear over your clothes on cool days. (At no extra charge)

O.A.R. also has a limited number of wetsuits for a small rental fee.

Try to avoid cotton... it gets wet and stays wet. Kind of makes you feel like you are stuck in a cold water washing machine cycle.

Wear - Warm weather

- T-Shirt (optional)
- Shorts
- Old sneakers, river shoes, etc.
- Ladies - wear bathing suit under shorts and T-shirt

In warm weather cotton is your friend.... it gets wet and keeps you cool!
